Have you ever noticed how we tend to ask our kids a lot of questions? Why do we do this. We tend to ask our kids (and others) a lot of questions not just because of curiosity, but because we want them to have the freed to respond. The reality is, as much as well-behaved children or controlled, predictable behaviors are desirable—independent, free-spirited children (and people) who make their own thoughtful choices are a greater desire. That why God in the Old Testament and Jesus in the New Testament also ask us so many questions. God wants us to be free to choose, God desires our engagement, more specifically God wants us to feel free to choose Him. We now make the shift from Questions God asks to "Questions Jesus Asks".
This week, Evan Gratz concludes our series by examining how we often become too comfortable and complacent, especially in those places in our lives that need healing the most. It's in those times we're reminded that God offers us more than just a temporary, physical healing, but the ultimate healing of spirit and heart.
