This week is the beginning of the season of Advent in which the church celebrates the anticipation of the arrival of Emmanuel ("God with us") in the person of Jesus Christ. Our Advent Series Those Who Dream reminds us that those who dream do not fall asleep to the realities of this world. God prompts us to pay attention to where God's dreams for change and new life are emerging.
No matter where we are in life our sole objective is to always give God thanks. Not just in the good times but in the bad times as well. The writer of this Psalm shows us that God will always come to our rescue. Our responsibility is to thank God for consistently intervening on our behalf.
