This week is the 2nd Sunday of Advent in which the church celebrates the anticipation of the arrival of Emmanuel ("God with us") in the person of Jesus Christ. We light the Peace Candle this week. Our Advent Series Those Who Dream reminds us that those who dream do not fall asleep to the realities of this world. God prompts us to pay attention to where God's dreams for change and new life are emerging.
John the Baptist calls the crowds into the journey of repentance and transformation. Similarly, we are called to prepare the way for God's message of love to be shouted, heard, and received.
