Speaker, Trainer and Consultant Jennifer Darling said she knew she was in the driver's seat when she was approached for a sales management position with a very large company and she set her own salary, and had them rewrite the corporate contract to include her list of expectations for the job. In this week's episode of the The Power of Owning Your Career Podcast, Jennifer shares how shifting perspective to embrace her life's intentions was a game changer for her career.
Career Advice from Jennifer:
- Understand your own value (for women, especially, it's a lot greater than you're giving yourself credit for)
- Get to know your values and standards of integrity. Stick to them. Things get hard in business and you need to be reminded who you are and want to be.
- Learn about life's intentions, and set your goals according to them. You will be much more fulfilled and decision making will be much easier.
- You ALWAYS have a choice. Even when it feels you don't, you do. You just have to be open to it.
- Take care of your health. It's the best thing you can do for yourself, your productivity, our creativity, and your resilience.
