To mark the 50th anniversary of the now-legendary Festival Express train and tour that came through Winnipeg to play the stadium on Canada Day, I spoke to Winnipeg music historian John Einarson about what the Winnipeg stop was like, before and after the concert - including Janis Joplin's famous dip in the Memorial Park fountain - and at the show itself, which John attended, featuring The Band, The Geateful Dead, Buddy Guy (and even Randy Bachman for a minute there).
