Presence board member Rob Hunter concludes his thoughts on Modernity and the idea of "better." Rob points to the work of Steven Pinker, "The Better Angels of Our Nature" to begin this session.
We should be aware that better does not mean avoidance of threats and challenges. Nothing better can evolve without chaos and deconstruction as part of the process.
Rob moves to the question of WHY things get better. This connects our creativity to our God image. The synergy of collectives is becoming stronger as we remove boundaries between fellow human beings. We do not have to participate in better things alone. Finally, we discuss the goals of a better trajectory. Specifically, the focus is on liberty and freedom and their importance in the Biblical Narrative.
