Paul goes into detail in chapter 10 about the current state of Israel with regard to faith and belief. We have to remember that Israel also had those of great faith and deep belief (see Jesus, apostles, etc.!) The Narrative reveals how we humans will always have the potential for growth. Faith can always be deeper. Belief can always be stronger. In this sense our past represents a time of less faith and belief. Paul points out that Israel stumbled when she encountered the faith of Christ. However! Paul will also ask, "have they stumbled that they should fall? Certainly not!" (11:11) Our lack of faith will keep us unconscious of the abundance of life, but it is not a work or requirement that determines our identity as God's own. Thanks for joining us today.
