3 Instant Takeaways

  1. Avoid bandaid solutions by understanding the why. It's easy to look at what other churches are doing and think that by replicating their programs or other strategies you can replicate their success. This is not always the case because their ministry was built on their context. Before implementing other church's tactics make sure you understand why it works and why it could work for you.
  2. Allow people to belong before they believe. Create an environment where visitors are welcome to attend and become part of your church before you expect anything from them. Remove any barriers between them and their next step into your community. This could be anything from making sure the kids' check in procedures are clear on their first visit, or joining a life group is simple further along the way.
  3. Lead with the heart of it. When convincing leadership to begin using new resources start with how the resource can help push the heart of their vision forward.
