Welcome to today's episode of "Wake Up Sydney" with your host Johnny Rocket!

In today’s podcast, we provided crucial weather, traffic, and public transport updates for all Sydneysiders tuned in this Friday, July 19, 2024. The day kicked off with a chilly breeze as temperatures started at 6.9°C, feeling even colder due to a brisk west wind. However, the day is expected to brighten up with a forecasted high of 18°C under partly cloudy skies.

On the roads, drivers faced a couple of hurdles early in the day. A lane closure on Anzac Parade in Kensington, due to an accident, required some rerouting, while a truck breakdown on the Eastern Distributor near Cleveland Street in Moore Park was causing delays in southbound traffic. We urge commuters to plan extra time or seek alternative routes.

For public transport users, Johnny highlighted important updates especially for those attending the Sydney SuperNight event at Sydney Motorsport Park in Eastern Creek. Complimentary shuttle buses are scheduled to run between Blacktown and the venue from 10:45 AM to 6:30 PM. Also, fans heading to the Disney on Ice at Sydney Olympic Park were reminded to make their way via trains to Olympic Park station using Platform Zero for seamless access from Lidcombe.
