You may know Donnell Rawlings as Day-Day from The Wire, or from his
sketches on The Chappelle Show, or from his stand up. But odds are, if you saw him
on the street the first thing out of your mouth would be "Hey! Ashy Larry!"
The comedian is in Chicago this weekend for a series of shows at Zanies in Old Town
and in Rosemont. He joined Jill Hopkins on The Morning AMp to talk about his career
in comedy and his brand of "Too Soon" funny. In his own words, "it could be too soon
for a joke but it could never be too soon for a funny observation," and that's what
Donnell has been consistently delivering over the years at comedy clubs and on the
screens.
