The Gemarah in Nedarim says the Beis Hamikdash was destroyed because Birchas HaTorah was not said prior to learning. This shows us that if the failure to say Birchas HaTorah disconnected us from Hashem, saying them properly can most definitely strengthen our relationship with Hashem.
