In this episode, Nina has a special guest, Claire Hammill. Claire is a self-love and body image coach and activist.
But she wasn't always a body image coach. Even though she began dieting as early as age 12, Claire found herself in her late 20's becoming a health/fitness coach encouraging women to join weight loss programs and selling products. She realized after some time that this was not where she wanted her focus to be, shaming women for their current weight wasn't what she felt called to do.
Now Claire is on a mission to help women understand you do not have to be skinny to be pretty. Women can be fat, curvy, and healthy all at the same time. While the external culprit is the media's representation of what women "should" look like, Claire reminds us that we as women are some of our own worst critics.
Claire hopes through the Curvy Collective women work together to put this to an end. The way we treat our bodies is the way our daughters will treat theirs. Claire reminds us that our strongest vessel is our body and it deserves some credit regardless what it looks like. Claire drops some ways to begin being more aware of how we treat our bodies and what we say to ourselves and take charge of creating a shift and falling back in love with the only body we have.
The more you show up as your authentic self, the more you're going to appreciate yourself and love yourself.
