Things start off with a bit of scandal this week as Todd leads the gang on a journey of discovery about how dating was in the 1940's and 1950's. Todd gets a little upset when his title gets devalued, Google's #1 user is Lauren, Mitch's chair is broken and he's still stuck in 1920's Boston, the gang can't tell the difference between Han Solo and Hansel or Wedding Crashers and Zoolander, Kuykendall has an awkward encounter with his mom, Mitch becomes a great country western song, the GOT theme overtakes Dueling Banjos as the soundtrack to uncomfortable sexual encounters, little Kuykendall lets the tattoo out of the bag, what would your mom do, the gang are terrible historians and can't name the Axis or Allied powers, the Ferrari Gourlami Touring was unveiled, the gang is REALLY bad a history, no one cares about the Wright Brothers apparently, NASA doesn't stand for what you think it does, like REALLY REALLY bad at history, Todd drops his headphones and Kuykendall spouts out random information about D-Day for a few minutes, and the gang is really bad at politics, but the UN prevails regardless, the gang really loved the movie Semi-Pro, old dating traditions seem a little strange, dad always has a gun, small town dating is usually pretty old-timey, Kuyk makes more semi-offensive generalizations, being broke gets you no ladies in the olden days, THE BIRTH OF PICKUP LINES, the gang still can't seem to break away from the 20's, Mitch tries an old-timey pick up line on Lauren, Mad Men bros were invented, the misogyny was most definitely invented by this moment, Mitch takes the words directly out of Todd's mouth, Bill was a deadbeat but still a pretty alright guy, the first dating advise books and always saying "maybe," Kuykendall maybe acts girly, the first hipsters begin adding to their vinyl collections, is the cover of this book a greek orgy, no one on the podcast listens to enough Alexisonfire, booming babies like most of our parents, dances and music propelled the adolescent world, the gang is way better at random useless facts than at history, Mitch turns 70 for a minute, solid South Park references, Remember the Titans is Kuykendall's favorite 1950's documentary, the gang still can't keep an accent straight for long, old high school jokes come full circle, in Tod we trust, feathers were definitely ruffled, little did we know that butt stuff wasn't invented until the 1950's, Kuykendall's brain doesn't work well at all, random vibrator talk, knowledge of the clitoris roams around southern California out of focus, Dr. Dildo can fix your hysteria right up, lots of foreshadowing for the 1960's, Mitch serenades us to the end of the episode and no one can figure out which song it is, Kuykendall plugs Mark Manson again for the final word.
