Jailed Liberty Dollar higher-up Kevin Innes has been in jail over a year now, probably for daring to create a competing currency that got a little too popular. Hello Dave Ridley!
It was very good to hear from you again! Thank you for the inspiring words from La Bo'ie. What is his full name - the first letter of his name failed to print (_ienne de la Bo'ie)? And how is his name pronounced? The French name brings to mind the name of Friedrich(?) Bastiat and his excellent lecture I think called "Legal Plunder." It was delivered before the French parliament in the 1700s(?) and he pointed out the errors in the logic of socialist policies and forms of government activity.
I would love to know how things are developing with the FSP and how special events have been received. How many attended the Liberty Forum and PorcFest this year? Who were the presenters/speakers? How many Free-Staters are there now? Please warmly thank Brian Wright for me for sending his two booklets to me that I have enjoyed reading (the booklets only have his email address for contact info). And Dave, it has also been inspiring to read about your courageous efforts in the reports you have sent me. What is the latest on the case of the Browns?
Conditions in this jail are very slowly improving but it still feels like I'm living in a refugee camp. There was one grumpy old inmate here who was more friendly to the rats than to people The other day, two tiny rats ran into the common room in the middle of the day. They were probably very hungry because the old guy had been feeding them and had recently been sent to prison. Normally the rats only came out when it was dark and quiet. Suddenly, the pod was alive with a bunch of guys gleefully trying to catch them! Abject boredom is common since there is no library, TVs, or any recreational equipment, and only cards (must be bought), chess and checkers are provided by the jail.
But this was a new game! One was caught and thrown in a cell where two big guys were talking. Yikes! They tore out of there as though they were being chased by a lion! LOL! 500 pounds of human terrorized by 2 ounces of rat! I suppose that's a game that has been played out in jails for centuries - probably for as long as there have been jails.
Hey, I heard there is a Tea Party Caucus in Congress who will allegedly be at least listening to what Tea Parties are saying. What kinds of discussion have been going on about this interesting development? I'm thrilled to see the dramatic rise in this movement over these last fourteen months that I have been in captivity.
BTW, the next opportunity for a trial for me is September 2010, but who knows, it might not actually take place until September 2011! the fools think that the longer they can prevent this trial from occurring the better it is for them. Preventing positive change from happening is only making the desire and forces for change that much stronger.
They were hoping to save themselves from having to present the ridiculous claim they have against me, for all the world to see, by trying to get me to accept a plea of six months which they dangled in front of me. The highly trained undercover agents knew in the course of their two year investigation that my intentions and actions have been completely open and honest and they continue to be. Hence, it would be dishonest to accept such a plea.
Until I am free of this oppression, I will passionately pursue change in the one place that is always available to me and is the source of all change in the world - change within myself. And corresponding with good people like you helps keep me balanced with the outside world and helps to keep me from getting "institutionalized."
Keep up the courageous work Dave! Your efforts are an important part of the great events that are unfolding for our society.
Freedom!!
Kevin
