I Think Myself Happy! Chaplain Gary Rayburn
Acts 26: 2 “I think myself happy, King Agrippa, because today I shall answer for myself before you concerning all the things of which I am accused by the Jews,
You ever had a bad day when nothing seems to go right! Of course we all have right, well what can we do about it when it seems to be out of our hands? In Acts Chapter 26 Paul was in prison and had been there for a couple years when he finally got his audience with King Agrippa and he told the King “I Think Myself Happy!” Then Paul went on to share his own personal testimony with the King.
King David in the Old Testament the Bible refers to him as a man after God’s own heart in 1 Samuel Chapter 30 was in a time in his life when nothing was going right and his own men were talking about stoning him to death. David was greatly distressed and the Bible says but David encouraged himself in the Lord! Sometimes that is exactly what we need to do as Christian people we need to encourage ourselves in the Lord, we need to think ourselves happy! How do we do that? We go back to the day that Jesus saved us and changed us and set our feet upon the solid Rock. We may need to share our testimony or at least relive it in our minds and think ourselves happy! We need to remind ourselves just how good God is and all the good things He has done for us since that day we got saved. We may even need to remember just how miserable we was before we asked Jesus into our hearts!
David was able to encourage himself in the Lord or excite himself in the Lord because he had a personal relationship with the Lord. Too many people know about God, but don’t know God. They don’t have that close personal relationship with God. They have forgotten just why they go to Church every Sunday.
We need to encourage ourselves we need to think ourselves Happy we need to remember who we are in Christ and we need to be contagious Christians splashing Jesus on everyone we come in contact with. We can be everything God has called us to be, but it is our choice, choose to be blessed and highly favored today and you will be, and it will rub off on all those you come in contact with.
And I know this much for sure Jesus Loves you and we do too! And this is Chaplain Gary Rayburn and we will talk at you later!
