Prayer is mysterious to us, isn’t it? How exactly does prayer work? If God works all things according to the counsel of his will — why pray? And if God has given us free will, can we change anything that has been set forth in God’s will through prayer? We are not puppets on a string. We’re not divine robots, either. So we start to see the tension, don’t we? Throughout this study, we’ll learn how God’s Sovereignty and Human responsibility are not at odds with one another when it comes to prayer— but instead, they are one and the same.
