In this 3rd week of Advent (excited expectation of the birth of Jesus) we light the candle of Joy, which is different than happiness. Joy is a deep-down feeling no matter what's going on around you. It's being thankful and living a life of gratitude. It's calling on Jesus to get you through whatever you are going through.
