Julianne joins us today to share her experience as a female leader in education and the biggest challenges she's faced throughout her career. She explains why many women refrain from applying for leadership roles in the education system and how she encourages her female staff to apply and accept these roles. We discuss why it's important for male educators and administration to challenge misperceptions regarding gender inequalities and why it's important for women to be strategic in deciding which inequality issues they should address. She also explains why it's important for female leaders to reflect and learn from their mistakes and the lessons she's learned throughout her career as a female leader and educator.
"Unconscious gender bias is not a male issue. It is a male and female issue." - Julianne Puente
