LAW-ENFORCEMENT FATALITIES - The number of law enforcement offers who died in the line-of-duty during the first half of the year increased by 15% compared to the same time last year. According to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, 71 people died in the line of duty nationwide, compared to 62 officers in the first half of 2023.
