ZELLE PAYMENTS - Millions of people use Zelle, an online payment system that allows you to quickly send money to someone. Now, a 62 page report is investigating how banks handle fraud and scams on Zelle. This week a Senate subcommittee found some banks are failing to reimburse users who experienced a scam on the digital payment network. Despite a legal mandate to reimburse fraud, the committee found many users who reported a scam were rarely reimbursed. In fact, according to the report nearly two-thirds of consumers who disputed a transaction as fraud at JP Morgan, Bank of America and Wells Fargo in 2023 were not reimbursed.
