Description

Bipartisan lawmakers are reviving legislation in the US Congress that would give the legal cannabis industry access to banking services and financial protection. The Secure and Fair Enforcement, or "SAFE" banking act, has passed the House seven times previously but never got a vote on the Senate floor.. This time there's more optimism with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer expressing his support, saying he'll work to include criminal justice provisions in the bill.

It comes at a time that California's legal cannabis market is it a tipping point, with brands shuttering and the industry competing with black market sales. To discuss further, Brett and Patti spoke with Dale Sky Jones -  President and Executive Chancellor of Oaksterdam University, Oakland's Cannabis business college.
