With less than two weeks before the presidential election, both Kamala Harris and Donald Trump are spending a lot of time this week wooing Latino voters. Vice President Harris did a town hall on Telemundo, while former president Trump met with Latino leaders in Florida. Their running mates and surrogates are also speaking with Latino groups and appearing on podcasts and radio shows geared to Hispanic audiences. This comes as the polling data suggests more Latino voters, especially men, have shifted from supporting Biden in 2020 to backing Trump now, and both campaigns know that in such a close race, they could hold the key to election.
For more, KCBS Radio anchors Patti Reising and Bret Burkhart, along with KCBS Insider Doug Sovern, were joined by by a man who predicted months ago that this election would boil down to this very demographic — Mike Madrid. Madrid is a longtime Republican political consultant in Sacramento who was one of the co-founders of the Lincoln Project, and is the author of the book “The Latino Century,” which came out earlier this year.
