Governor Gavin Newsom's voice is ringing louder on the national stage as he ramps up his criticism of Republican states. The Governor was in DC to receive an education innovation award, and used his acceptance speech as a platform to blast the education policy of red states. This all comes after his 4th of July television ad that ran in Florida.

The Governor says he's tired of California being a punching bag for the right wing, telling the LA Times before his trip that he, "can't take it."

To discuss further, KCBS Radio news anchor Margie Shafer spoke with KCBS Radio Political Analyst Larry Gerston.
