The Delta variant of the coronavirus continues to spread across California, now accounting for the majority of new infections, in what experts are calling a “pandemic of the unvaccinated.”
That has one Bay Area lawmaker saying it’s time for vaccinations to become mandatory, at least for some populations, the way measles shots are required for schoolchildren.
That call is coming from East Bay Assemblymember Buffy Wicks, Democrat from Oakland, who says it’s the only way to bring the pandemic back under control.
