Despite reports that US Customs and Border Protection was mistreating migrants
detained at California’s border with Mexico, CBP now says it never happened, and that the border patrol was NOT keeping migrants in essentially an open air holding cell, without food and water. That response has infuriated several of California’s members of Congress, who are demanding better answers and an investigation.
One of them is freshman Representative Robert Garcia, a Democrat, the former Mayor of Long Beach who was elected to Congress last year. He’s on the Homeland Security Committee.
