19 years ago Maggie Escobar received a call from Alta Med Health Services from a local elected official that led her to starting a toy drive organization. He was in desperate need of toys for underserved kids in Maywood, Bell and Huntington Park. This past year she raised about $10k to buy holiday gifts for the kids. “It’s just amazing to see those little smiling faces,” Maggie stated for the annual toy drive.
