Dr. Wilfred Reilly—professor of political science at Kentucky State University—joins The Dawn Stensland Show to discuss his book, Hate Crime Hoax. Dr. Reilly speaks about the media’s selection of hate crimes to give coverage to and how hoaxers are exploiting the media’s quest for stories that support their pre-conceived notions/preferred narratives. A recent example of this unfolding was the Jussie Smollett case—though there were many elements of Smollett’s story that seemed far-fetched, the media ran with the story anyway.
