- On Wednesday, Philadelphia Health Commissioner Dr. Cheryl Bettigole announced the city has entered the “All Clear” COVID-19 phase, meaning that the city-wide mask mandate will be lifted. The mandate will, however, temporarily remain in place for students at Philadelphia city schools.
- The trial of Amtrak engineer Brandon Bostian continues. Bostian has been charged with involuntary manslaughter and reckless endangerment for his role in a 2015 train crash. On Wednesday, the prosecution rested its case. The trial could conclude as early as Friday.
- Pennsylvania State Senator Eugene Yaw joins the show to discuss his recent opinion editorial, “Are We Nuts? American Energy is Key to Undermining Putin’s War.” Sen. Yaw explains that in order to truly break NATO dependence on Russia, the United States needs to better utilize its natural gas supply. Pennsylvania, according to the Energy Information Administration, remains the second largest natural gas producer nationally—this despite policies that have constrained production.
- Ryan Mills—reporter at National Review—joins the show to discuss his latest article, “Afghan CIA Interpreter Pleads with U.S. to Save Family from Taliban.” In the story, Mills documents Afghan CIA Interpreter Nastratullah Sepahizada's numerous attempts to rescue his family from the predations of the Taliban. Because Nastratullah had helped America, his family members are now Taliban targets.
