Hour 1 of The Dawn Stensland Show:
- Local News Headlines/News Rundown
- A 12-Year-old girl was shot while leaving a grocery store in Philadelphia. According to reports she is, thankfully, in stable condition and expected to recover.
- Doris Kearns Goodwin—Pulitzer Prize Winning Presidential Historian—joins the show to discuss a new Abraham Lincoln documentary which is based on her book Leadership: In Turbulent Times. During the interview, Kearns Goodwin tells a fascinating story of how, at an early age, Lincoln battled depression and thoughts of suicide—ultimately concluding he couldn’t die because he hadn’t yet achieved anything that would require people to remember he had lived. The History Channel’s three-night documentary series premieres Presidents’ Day weekend, Sunday February 22nd at 8pm ET/PT.
- Douglas Blair—of the Heritage Foundation and Contributor to The Daily Signal—joins the show to discuss his article, “GoFundMe’s Sordid History of Censorship of Conservative Causes.” Even though GoFundMe claims to have no political biases, Blair’s research indicates that isn’t the case. They’ve allowed violent protestors for causes like Antifa to raise money without interference, but they have historically been quick to shut-down any fundraising for overtly conservative causes—including, in one instance, even changing their terms of services to target a specific fundraising campaign they found objectionable.
