- Police are investigating a carjacking that resulted in the death of a man leaving work in Philadelphia. According to reports, the 62-year-old victim was attacked by a group of eight teenagers.
- On Wednesday, Mayor Jim Kenney signed a bill that would institute a curfew on teens in Philadelphia—it will last through the duration of the summer. According to the legislation, kids 17 and younger will not be permitted to wander the streets after 10pm. The policy went into effect on Thursday night.
- Sammy “The Bull” Gravano—former underboss of the Gambino Crime Family—joins the show to talk about his new short film series “The Salvatore.” During the interview, the former mobster implores Philadelphia’s youth not to make the same mistakes he made and to avoid going down a criminal path. Gravano also discusses the recent passing of legendary actor, and star of the Academy Award winning film “The Godfather,” James Caan.
- On Thursday, Dr. Oz—the Republican candidate for U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania—released a scathing video on social media condemning Mayor Jim Kenney's recent comments and the historically high homicide rates in Philadelphia. In response, Democrat candidate John Fetterman claimed the video had been recorded in the doctor’s New Jersey mansion.
- Addison Del Mastro—Writer & Editor at Real Clear Pennsylvania—joins the show to discuss his latest editorial “Can Lancaster County Preserve Its Distinct Identity?” Del Mastro writes that “Lancaster, Pennsylvania isn’t your grandfather’s Amish Country anymore.” Should residents of Lancaster be worried about modernization? - On Thursday night, an 11-year-old boy was struck by a hit-and-run driver in Philadelphia. According to witnesses the driver was in a Ford pick-up truck—police are searching for the suspect. The boy remains in critical condition.
- While speaking with Deanna Durante on NBC10, Montgomery County Sheriff Deputy John Foster, who was struck by a stray bullet during Philadelphia’s Fourth of July fireworks display, said “I’m glad it hit me and not someone else.”
