Hour 1 of The Dawn Stensland Show:
- Local News Headlines/News Rundown
- On Tuesday, three Sharon Hill police officers were charged with manslaughter in the death of 8-year-old Fanta Bility. Fanta was accidentally shot and killed while exiting a high school football game with her family—police mistakenly believed the vehicle she was in had been shooting at them.
- Attorney and U.S. Senate candidate George Bochetto & Maureen Faulkner, the widow of slain Philadelphia police officer Daniel Faulkner, join the show to discuss Mumia Abu-Jamal’s Post Conviction Relief Act (PCRA) petition. In 1982 Mumia Abu-Jamal was found guilty of the first-degree murder of Officer Faulkner. At 3pm on Wednesday (January 19th), Bochetto and Faulkner will hold a press conference alongside Philadelphia Lodge #5 Fraternal Order of Police to pushback against claims made in Abu-Jamal’s recently filed petition. During the interview, Bochetto revealed that Abu-Jamal, despite being a convicted killer serving a life-time prison sentence, received a $1,400 stimulus check as part of President Biden’s COVID-19 relief bill.
