- On Monday, two brothers surrendered to police following the beating of a 73-year-old man in North Philadelphia. According to surveillance video, a group of several young teens and kids beat James Lambert Jr. to death with a traffic cone. Police have charged a 14-year-old with third-degree murder.
- According to the U.S. Labor Department, inflation surged to a 9.1% in June 2022—the highest rate in over 40 years.
- Starbucks announced they will be permanently closing their location in Center City, Philadelphia—citing drugs, crime, and general safety concerns. Starbucks will be closing other locations in Washington D.C., Los Angeles, Seattle, and Portland for similar reasons.
- The victim of a robbery in Wissinoming managed to wrestle a gun away from one of his attackers and used it against them.
- According to a report from KHOU11, during the mass shooting at Robb Elementary in Uvalde, Texas, one mom rushed into the school and saved her children from gunfire. Despite her heroic actions, Angeil Gomez says she is currently being harassed by local police. Gomez said she was frustrated with the lackadaisical response she witnessed from police and was compelled to take action to protect her kids.
- On Tuesday, the Pennsylvania Election Agency filed a lawsuit against several Republican-controlled counties—demanding the counties tally mail-in ballots that arrive in undated return envelopes.
