- On Wednesday afternoon, a 17-year-old high school student was shot and killed near Bartram High School in Philadelphia, PA.
- Governor Tom Wolf has vetoed a Congressional map drawn by the Pennsylvania Legislature. In a statement, Wolf suggested the map’s redistricting too heavily favored Republicans.
- Philadelphia leaders gathered on Wednesday to advocate on behalf of the Violent Incident Clearance and Technology Investigative Methods (VICTIM) Act which would allocate $1 billion towards solving murder cases.
- During a Wednesday press conference, Philadelphia Health Commissioner Dr. Cheryl Bettigole was asked if the decreasing number of COVID-19 infections will lead to the removal of city-wide restrictions. Dr. Bettigole explained that while it is still too early to curb restrictions, preliminary conversations about an eventual pull-back have begun.
