Travelers flying into or out of Dallas this past month got an unexpected reminder of how fragile our aviation infrastructure can be. And now with the government shutdown, there is added concern about more stress at our airports nationwide.

Just last month a major telecom disruption in the Dallas area knocked out radar, communications and air-traffic control systems, triggering a ground stop and delaying or canceling hundreds of flights at DFW and Love Field.

More broadly, airports around the country have faced technical failures or cyber vulnerabilities in recent months-- from airline system glitches grounding flights to ransomware attacks on check-in platforms in Europe that forced manual operations.

On Ask the Expert, we're joined by Matt Radolec. He's a cyber security expert, here to help us understand the risks.
