Liz Petty with the North Texas Poison Center says this is the time of year calls go up due to bad interactions with plants, garden chemicals, and critters. Some advice she gives includes keeping kids from picking random plants to avoid exposure to such conditions as "tulip fingers" and rashes from poison ivy. She says keeping them out of gardens altogether could keep them from running into any insects and possible snakes or spiders that could bite them.
