A southern Illinois state lawmaker filed a lawsuit Thursday against Gov. J.B. Pritzker for extending the state’s stay-at-home order and aims to block the extension of the state at home order. Republican State Rep. Darren Bailey of Xenia claims that Pritzker has exceeded his authority and is violating the civil rights of the state’s residents. "Enough is enough!" Bailey said in a statement. "I filed this lawsuit on behalf of myself and my constituents who are ready to go back to work and resume a normal life.” No other counties in Illinois have agreed with State Rep Darren Bailey and think he’s being irresponsible, but worry that his stance will have an effect on the public complying with state at home orders or other lawmakers wanting to file suit as well.
