Brendalyn King and partner Osei Doyle are the Salem Hemp Kings. Brendalyn grew up in STL City, moved to Brooklyn for college, met Osei, they moved to Salem IL to grow hemp. Then they decided to buy land in MO and purchased Lake Placid Resort, which began in the 1930s as a place for Black families who weren't allowed on the Big Lake of the Ozarks. Now King and Doyle are trying to start their hemp farm and rejuvenate this historic resort.
