Description

Eli Escobar interviewed Dr. Heidi Ham Stieglitz  from Spectrum Fusion. Spectrum Fusion is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that is dedicated to improving the quality of lives of adults on the autism spectrum by unleashing their full potential and providing new connections and opportunities for them to bring their talents and gifts to society.

Nationally, about 85% of adults on the autism spectrum are unemployed or underemployed. Getting work in their chosen fields can be especially difficult for this population, even for those with college degrees. Houston nonprofit Spectrum Fusion is working to address these challenges with its Reactor Room, where Houston-area leaders hear autistic adults’ career goals and put their experience and community contacts to work for them. You could say the program is a kinder, gentler version of "Shark Tank."  After several years on hold due to COVID-19, Spectrum Fusion re-launched the Reactor Room program with sessions at Rice University. Panelists included   Harris County Precinct 1 Constable Alan Rosen to Johnson & Johnson executive and researcher Fred Oswald, Ph.D.  For more information visit SpectrumFusion.org
