Researchers in Canada looked at more than 15 million people who live in Ontario. they looked closely at data on nearly 181,000 of those people who had suffered a stroke. That research suggests the odds for dementia nearly triples in the first year after having a stroke.  Dr. Russell Cerejo is an Interventional Neurologist at Allegheny Health Network. He joined The Rick Dayton Show on KDKA to talk about the research and what people can do to avoid have a stroke in the first place.
