Pittsburgh’s own, Bret Michaels, got an extra special welcome into baseball season by getting to take batting practice with Pirates’ center-fielder, Andrew McCutcheon.
Michaels recently called in to share his experience hanging in the big leagues with 100.7 Star’s Bubba Show.
“I went down there. took my daughters down and we got to go out in the batting cage, throw baseballs,” he said after detailing how much Pittsburgh sports played a role in his childhood. “[We] had the best time ever."
“I got to knock a couple and almost a couple out of the park,” he said. “We were throwing the ball back and forth and he bein’ really cool, really respectful and he’s kind of lobbin’ it and I go, ‘come on… let that thing fly.’ He [then] threw so fast — let’s put it this way — I didn’t even know it hit my glove… I pretended it didn’t hurt at all, I was like, ‘I’m cool, man.’ — it was a great day in my life.”
