BALANCING ONTARIO'S BUDGET
A report out yesterday from Ontario's financial watchdog says the province is on track to balance the budget by 2023-24 and run a $7.1 billion surplus three years later.
However, current policies could well change given the provincial election that's set for June 2nd.
Libby is joined by Peter Weltman, Ontario’s Financial Accountability Officer, to discuss.
ONTARIO IN ELECTION MODE
With the provincial election on the horizon, party leaders are making their plays. New Democrat Andrea Horwath is urging people to consider using ‘strategic voting’ to shut out Doug Ford, but Liberal Leader Steven Del Duca says that he is only focusing on his team and their ideas.
Libby is joined by Bob Richardson, Liberal Strategist and Senior Council to National Public Relations; and John Mykytyshyn
Conservative Activist, Political Consultant, and President of Bradgate Research Group, to discuss.
FIGHTING FOOD WASTE
Libby is joined by Lori Nikkel CEO, Second Harvest; Dr. Sylvain Charlebois, Senior Director, Agri-Food Analytics Lab at Dalhousie University; and Victor Plange, Head of Marketing at Too Good To Go, for a conversation about food insecurity in Canada, and what is being done to combat food waste.
