Georgia improved to 2-0 on the 1980 season with a 42-0 victory over Texas A-M. It was the Sanford Stadium debut for Herschel Walker, who broke loose for a 76-yard touchdown, punctuating the victory and his first 100-yard performance as a Bulldog. The Georgia passing attack struck for a slew of big plays, the defense forced six turnovers, and the special teams was outstanding.
We relive the victory and the start of the season with two Georgia legends. Frank Ros, #48, was the team captain for the 1980 national champions and one of the great linebackers in Bulldogs history. Mike Cavan, who wore #12 when he quarterbacked Georgia to the 1968 Southeastern Conference title, was the Bulldogs running backs coach and lead recruiter for "The Goal Line Stalker."
It's another wonderful trip down memory lane for the most memorable march to college football's ultimate prize. We hope you enjoy, Episode Two of 40 for 80 - The Sweetest Season.
