Lisa Whelchel, who began acting as a Mouseketeer for Walt Disney’s The New Mickey Mouse Club at age 13, took a break after The Facts of Life to raise her three children. She then joined Season 25 of CBS’s Survivor: Philippines in which she tied for second place and was voted “Fan Favorite” by viewers with an extra $100,000 prize. She made her return to feature films in Tyler Perry’s A Madea Christmas and to television in For Better or For Worse and Hearts of Spring for the Hallmark Channel. Also, an accomplished author, Whelchel’s first book, Creative Correction, was released in October 2000 and has sold over 200,000 copies. She went on to write over a dozen more books including, The Facts of Life and Other Lessons My Father Taught Me, The Busy Mom’s Guide Series, and her most recent, Friendship for Grownups.
