Description

This episode we're talking "The Recipe" by SiR, from his album Chasing Summer. It's about a woman being super into him and him letting her know that it's just a fling. She keeps wanting more of him but it's something he can't give her. We dissect a lyric in which he insinuates in a double entendre that this fling doesn't compare to his girl back home, so we dive into the topic of temptation. There is always going to be temptation when you're in a relationship but you can't act on fleeting emotions, or you'll ruin something real. SiR also mentions that he was very clear with this fling that it could never be more, but the thing about words is that they will always be trumped by your actions, so things can get confusing in that type of arrangement.

We also bring up the double standards against women in music. They don't have the leniency to be players or cheaters the same way men do, without being called hoes or "for the streets", or getting death threats by incels. Unlearning misogyny is important and it benefits everybody, so don't be trash.
