Got another solo episode today with lots of tips and information about long distance relationships. It's probably no ones ideal situation but life happens and you never know if you might end up on one one day. The most common reasons are going away for school, getting a new job, or some kind fo family emergency where you have to tag along. Another reason could be if you have to travel a lot for your job, which is what Ambré talks about in her song "The Catch Up", which was released along with "Alone" in December of 2020. It's about being in a situationship where you don't have time for a full fledged relationship but you try to meet up with someone that you're really vibing with whenever you can. The relationship is very lowkey and doesn't really extend past this honeymoon phase where it's all fun and sensual and stays in the hotel room and ends at checkout. It really just shows how difficult it can be to develop a relationship when you're not both in one location or at least close to each other.
I go over 2 videos by Psych2Go on YouTube titled "7 Stages of a Long Distance Relationship" & "6 Tips on Maintaining Long Distance Relationships". LDR's are very high maintenance and 100% not for a relationship that is rocky or where one or both of the ppl aren't very committed. It takes a lot of planning, setting boundaries, and very open and honest communication. If you can't be vulnerable and learn how to regulate your jealousy, insecurity, and emotions, then you're gonna have a tough time. If everyone is on the same page, equally committed and willing to put in the effort then it can definitely work, but you can't go into it all willy nilly with zero preparation. I end as always with some tweets I found this week about making sure the person you're choosing is also choosing you, because you will break your own heart thinking people f*** with you the same way you do them. Don't go above and beyond for someone who wouldn't even put you first.
