Jassy Correia, a 23-year-old mother from Boston, was kidnapped after leaving her own birthday celebration at Venu Nightclub in February 2019. She was strangled to death by Louis Coleman III, who shoved her body into a suitcase and drove across state lines to Rhode Island, where police later discovered her corpse in his car trunk after a multi-state manhunt. Coleman, who did not know Correia prior to the attack, was convicted of federal kidnapping resulting in death and sentenced to life in prison, with the judge calling the crime "brutal, callous, and cruel".
