Incredible interview with Jenn Gelfand, as she makes the transition from a travel PT living across the country to putting down roots with her family in Portland Maine!
Like so many, her own medical challenges led her into the pelvic PT field. After her experience she wanted to make sure everyone she worked with truly felt listened to and heard.
She began integrating her love for yoga into her clinical practice. And she even gives me a few tips as someone who struggles to be consistent with yoga! Yoga and movement practices look different for everyone.
Her practice started in the (former) changing room of a yoga studio, with Jenn hauling in Rubermaid tubs of equipment and a massage table.
Jenn had a huge passion for being in the community and doing more than her staff PT job could allow. She found herself treatment patients as a staff PT, teaching yoga classes on the side, and seeing her own patients on the side of that!
She realized that she wanted to bring all these aspects of her life and clinical approach together. And RootToRise Physical Therapy was born!
She began working with the Pelvic PT Rising Mentorship program about a year ago, when it was just Jenn. RootToRise now has another full-time PT and an admin and Jenn is focused on mentoring her team and increasing her impact on the community.
