Spiritual Mentorship is important, but it has limits. We must attend to the core of personal contact, which is none other than the core (corazon!) of the person. St John Henry Newman chose as his motto, cor ad cor loquitor, heart s peaks to hear. He draws on St Paul and St Philip Neri (see biography of Bacci), as well as his own experience as an oratorian, the spiritual descendants of St Philip Neri. We must communicate with hearts of humans before we communicate with humanity.
