Episode 307 - Show Notes:
- Baptism is an outward and visible sign of an inward and spiritual grace. Baptism is a public confession of our faith in Jesus.
- Baptism is something Jesus commanded us to do. It’s not an option for the believer. It’s something we do as soon as we believe.
- Water baptism is not just a Christian ritual or a tradition.Baptism is a statement of faith: my old life is behind me – I am a brand-new person in Christ.
- Baptism is not a mark of spiritual maturity, but rather a statement of personal identification with Jesus Christ. You don’t have to wait until you feel like you are a spiritually strong person. It’s an obedience issue, not a maturity issue.
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” (Matthew 28:19)
