Description

You have a lot on your plate. But how much of it is actually your responsibility? Sure, maybe it is now because you agreed to it, but I mean before when it was first presented to you. In Higher Ed, it's considered being a good team player to take on additional work. The problem is, the more responsibilities you take on, the less energy you have for things that are actually your responsibilities. In the worst cases, those additional responsibilities start encroaching on your values. In this episode, we talk about how volunteering can lead to exhaustion, keep you from achieving your goals, and keep meaningful change from happening in the places you think you're "picking up the slack." If you feel weighed down with responsibilities, you'll want to listen.
